Designed for my daughter in 2012, the first quilt I ever made.
Krazy Katz

  1. I think your work is wonderful, I could never make such cute baby blankets!

  2. In "Sew Retro, Baby", is there an acrylic template available for the circle "pie and wedge" pieces. These look much larger than my Drunkard's Path acrylic templates would make them to be. Mine are more half and half, sort of, whereas the pie pieces in your quilt look exaggerated (and really NICE). I would be interested to know how to get a set of these exaggerated sort of drunkard's path templates.

    1. Hi Kate! Glad you stopped in and like the Sew Retro, Baby! quilt. You are a no-reply blogger, so I hope you do stop back in to see this reply!

I did not use an acrylic template to make the Drunkard's Path blocks. I drew and made my own templates out of cardboard. And, yes, the circle portion is larger than the standard Drunkard's Path. This pattern, which includes the template size used, is for sale in my Craftsy Pattern store here...

If you would like to learn how to draw your own templates, here is a link to a great tutorial...

Thanks for the visit, Kate! Hope to see you again soon!

  3. You have lovely designs here. I think I need to practice some applique so I can tackle some of those cats and dogs! Too cute!

  4. It's really interesting seeing these agaub after seeing your mum's embroidered quilts - I think there's a definite link with the animal motifs you quilt and the animals she embroidered!

  5. How in the world did I ever miss Krazy Kats? Oh. My. Gosh. That is so stinkin' adorable!!!

  6. you have an amazingly wonderful concept on creating animals....I consider myself to be "creative" but you take it to a whole new level for me! (I don't I think of would have ever thought of doing the ducks feet like you name one point) But the krazy kat is my all favorite! Just love to look at your quilts!

  7. love your quilts! enjoyed browsing.

  8. Love so many of these, but especially the gorgeous ducky and the foxes.

  9. You make such wonderful quilts. I wish I could get as much done as you do. I loved all of them. Also, thank you so much for the free watermelon patterns. I love watermelon designs. Thank you so much, I will think of you when I am eating off my placemats or looking at my table runners.

  10. Your blog is very aptly named - your quilts really are Sew Fresh Lorna! An impressive body of work! I love you and your Mom's jackets too!

  11. Lorna your quilt's are just wonderful. I am a very big fan of all the bright fabrics.

  12. Wow, Lorna, your quilts are amazing! Those animals!! I love the little pigs :) I think my favourite is the Ohio Stars. Stunning.
